Overview

Browser notifications allow you to receive Rhombus alerts directly through your web browser, even when the Rhombus Console is not actively in use. This article explains how to enable browser notifications in supported browsers and configure the necessary notification settings in macOS and Windows.

Enabling Browser Notifications

To receive browser notifications, notifications must be allowed for the Rhombus Console in your browser settings and enabled in your Rhombus notification settings.

Browser notifications can be enabled from the Rhombus Console in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari, or Firefox.

1. Log in to the Rhombus Console, hover over your initials in the upper-right corner, then click "Alert Notifications."

2. Click "Add Time Frame" in the upper-left corner.

3. Select "Browser" as a notification method. When prompted by your browser, allow console.rhombus.com to send notifications.

Note: Your browser must allow notifications from console.rhombus.com for the "Browser" notification option to function properly.

Operating System Settings

Once browser notifications are enabled, you may also need to allow your browser to send notifications through your operating system settings. The steps for enabling these notifications vary between macOS and Windows.

MacOS

1. Open "System Settings" from the Dock, or click the Apple menu in the upper-left corner and select "System Settings."

2. Select "Notifications" from the left navigation menu.

3. Scroll to the "Application Notifications" section, then select the browser you use to access the Rhombus Console.

4. Enable "Allow Notifications."

Windows

1. Open the Windows Start menu, then select "Settings."

2. Select "System" from the left navigation menu, then select "Notifications."

3. Ensure "Get notifications from apps and other senders" is enabled.

4. In the "Notifications from apps and other senders" section, enable notifications for the browser you use to access the Rhombus Console.
