Depending on the type of data, it is retained for different lengths of time.
Saved Clips
- Saved clips will be available for viewing in the Console for up to 2 years.
- These are any videos that you clip and save. These will be available in the Clips tab of the Saved Video section of your Console.
Alerts
- All automatically generated alerts are available for viewing in the Console for up to 3 months unless dismissed/deleted.
- These are any videos found in the Notification section of your Console or the Alerts section on specific device pages.
- If you would like to keep the footage attached to your alerts for longer, you can choose to save them as clips.
- These are any videos found in the Notification section of your Console or the Alerts section on specific device pages.
Saved Faces
- Any face images captured and stored with facial recognition or people counting are kept for up to 1 year along with all associated reports.
License Plates
- Any license plate images captured and stored with license plate recognition or vehicle counting are kept for 2 years along with all associated reports.
Access Control Logs
- All textual logs of Access control events will be stored for 5 years.
- Access control log events can be found in 'Rhombus Web Console > Logs & Reports > Access Control Events'
Timelapse Clips
- All footage to create a timelapse video is automatically saved for 1 year.
- This means you can only create a timelapse video for time periods within the last 12 months.
Logs
- All logs including audit logs and device logs are retained indefinitely.
Region Search Data
- All data needed to do a region search is retained for 6 months.
Reporting Data
- All reporting data around people counts, vehicle counts, bandwidth, motion, and other similar data is retained for 2 years.
Sensor Data
- All historical data for sensors (temperature, location, states, etc) is retained for 2 years.
Video Retention
- In terms of video retention for a camera, the duration depends on the camera's model, the resolution and bitrate settings, the amount of motion it sees, and whether Cloud Archiving is enabled for the camera.
- In order to see how many days of onboard storage you may have, take a look at the estimate provided in the camera settings section in the Console.

- Cloud Archiving is sold by the day and will not be affected by the same variables as onboard storage. In order to find out how much cloud arching you have, the best route is to review your Licenses & Features section of your Console settings.
