Physical Tamper

Physical tamper alerts are generated when a device's structure moves, spins, or is suddenly impacted by other objects or people. This alert provides proactive notifications for a device that has been physically tampered with. Physical Tamper is available for our A100, R120, R170, R200, R230, and R600 devices.

Visual Tamper

Visual Tamper detects when a camera's field of view has been tampered with, like when someone covers the dome with spray paint. This feature works by using the full view of the camera window as a reference, and when "covered," the system will flag and mark the detection time. All Rhombus cameras can detect Visual Tamper once enabled.

Setting Tamper Alerts and Notifications

To receive tamper alert notifications, you must ensure that an alert policy is created and assigned to the specific camera(s) or audio gateway(s) and that your notification settings are enabled for these alert types.

Alert Policies

1. To set up an alert policy, log in to the Rhombus Console, navigate to "Settings" and click "Manage" below "Policies."

2. On the "Manage" page, you can create a new policy by clicking "Add Policy" in the upper-left corner, or edit an existing policy by clicking its name.

3. Select the tamper events you wish to be notified for, choose a schedule for the events to trigger alerts, and click "Save."

Note: Once the alert policy is saved, assign it to whichever devices you wish to have the feature enabled on.
