Overview
By combining Rhombus security cameras with Avigilon Alta technology, organizations can improve their access control experience, minimize abuse from outside parties, and assist with verifying who is entering the monitored area.
Avigilon Setup
Log in to your Avigilon Alta account. Navigate to "Users" and "Role Management." In order for a user to update the Openpath credentials in the Rhombus Console, that user must be assigned to a role with the following permissions:
Rhombus Console Setup
1. Navigate to "Settings" and select "Third Party Integrations."
2. Under the "Badge Systems" dropdown, select "Avigilon Alta."
3. Enable the integration, input your account information, and click "Login."
4. Move to "Configure Devices" and complete the camera associations. For the integration to work, the Avigilon Alta devices must be associated with at least one Rhombus device.
5. Add any additional options under the "Console Option" tab.
- Create an alert if the face detected does not match the badge used for entry
- Create an event marker in camera feed timelines for all badge entry events
- Save a 10 second clip for all badge entry events
5. Click "Save" in the top right corner to complete the integration setup.
Capture Events and Review Footage from Badge Entries
With the Avigilon Alta integration, Rhombus is automatically configured to capture the following events:
- When someone enters with a badge
- When a face does not match the badge used
In the Rhombus Console, motion, people, and vehicle events create seek points in the video feed for easy navigation.
This event indexing is also carried over with the Avigilon Alta integration. All Openpath events and activities are automatically indexed so that you can filter or skip to a particular event, allowing you quickly investigate and secure entry points.

A camera that is associated with the Avigilon Alta integration has the ability to send a "Unlock Door" signal. This will unlock the associated door for the duration selected in the Avigilon Alta account. After the time expires, the door will relock.
