Overview
Rhombus devices require licenses to utilize all their available features in the Rhombus ecosystem. If no licenses are applied, camera footage will be available as a live-only stream.
This article will cover the steps to claim your license key after purchasing device licenses.
Video Walkthrough
Claim Your Key
| 1. To claim your license key, begin by opening the email sent from shipping@rhombus.com. |
2. Copy the claim key in the email, and click "Claim License Key." This button will open a separate tab on the License Management page in your Rhombus Console. Note: If you are not already signed into the console, you will need to do so in this step. |
| 3. On the License Management page, paste your copied claim key in the input field in the upper-right corner of the page and click "Claim Licenses." |
| 4. A window will appear outlining the licenses you are claiming and their start and end dates. Click the checkbox to acknowledge the claim key process, then click "Redeem" to complete claiming your licenses. |
| Note: The start and end dates are determined by the type of licenses purchased (e.g., 1-year, 3-year, 5-year, etc.). If a license is applied to a device before its scheduled start date, the license will begin on the date it is applied, not the originally scheduled start date. The licenses in a claim key will always begin on whichever date comes earlier, the scheduled start date or the date a license is applied. |
Claim a Client's Key (Partners Only)
If one of your clients has not yet claimed a license key, you can claim it on their behalf, provided you have the necessary access to their console.
1. Log in to the Rhombus Partner Console and click "Claim Keys" in the upper-left corner. Note: You must be a Super Admin in the Partner Console to view this button. |
2. Click "Claim" next to a client's name to claim the license key for their console. If you do not have permission to do so, a "Copy" button is displayed instead. Use this button to copy the license key and send it to the client for manual entry. Note: This window displays only purchased, unclaimed license keys that you have sold to your clients. |
Apply Device Licenses
Once your claim key has been redeemed, you must assign the licenses to devices in your console so they can begin recording footage.
| 1. Navigate to the "Devices" page and select the device to which you want to apply the license. Click "Add License." |
| 2. A window listing the available licenses for this device will appear. Click the checkbox next to the license you wish to apply and click "Next" in the bottom-right corner. |
| 3. If you claim a license prior to its set start date, a notice will appear outlining the impact of doing so. Click "Save" in the bottom right corner. |
| 4. Once a license has been applied, the expiration timer for every license in that claim key will begin. |
Bulk Assign Licenses
If you purchased multiple licenses, they can be bulk assigned to your devices to expedite the setup process.
1. In the Rhombus Console, navigate to "Settings" and click "Manage" below "Licenses & Features."
2. From the license dashboard, click the "Unassigned" link below the license type you wish to bulk assign.
3. In the pop-up window, click the checkboxes beside the camera names for which you wish to assign licenses. To simultaneously assign all the licenses from a license key, click the checkbox directly below the license term at the top of the window. Click "Save" when finished.
