In this article, we will talk about a couple of options for utilizing the DR40s
Overview
The DR40 features a built-in Normally Open (NO) relay that can handle up to 30 VAC/DC, with a maximum current of 1A. This makes it compatible with most traditional off-the-shelf door chimes powered by transformers within this range.
To ensure compatibility, partners should double-check the transformer specifications to confirm the power requirements. We recommend trusted brands like NICOR and Newhouse Hardware, available through Home Depot and Amazon. We have experience using the Nicor Wired Single Gang Chime and Newhouse CHM3D. Please note that installation may require the expertise of an electrician or licensed installer, depending on local regulations.
