In this article, we take a dive into the tabs and features of the mobile app:
Tabs
Devices
When you first log into the phone app after the registration process, you will land on the Devices tab. This will give you various information about all of your registered devices, and allow you to register new ones as well as check system diagnostics within Utilities.
Cameras
Tapping on cameras within the devices tab brings up all the cameras in the account. Selecting a given camera brings up that cameras specific feed where you can see seek points for events like human movement, vehicle movement, face detected, etc. To exit the feed just tap the viewing window and tap the X in the upper left corner.
Door Sensors
Door sensors can help provide insight into open and close events. Tapping on a given sensor takes you to that sensors main page where you can see location, battery life, signal strength, open and close events, and configurable camera assignment as well as unregister it.
Asset Tags
Asset tags can help track items you do not want to loose. In the main asset tag page you can view all you tags and their location, battery health, and signal strength to the connected camera. Jumping into one of the tags you can see more details and edit the name and picture as well as unregister it.
Environmental Sensors
These sensors are useful for gaining insight into the climate of a specific area. From the main environmental sensor page you can see all your sensors and their humidity, temperature, location, battery life, and signal strength. Within a given sensors page you can see humidity, and temperature data over the last 24 hours.
Locations
The locations tab will display all your locations where you have devices. Diving into a given location will bring up a wall of all camera feeds at that area. From here you can jump into a specific feed and see the seek points noted in the camera section above.
Video Walls
Here you can view your video walls you created on the console. To create, edit, or maintain video walls, you can do this through the Rhombus console.
Alerts
In the alerts tab you can see all the alerts that are found based on the policies you have created. Tapping on an alert brings up the clip with the type of alert that was caught. You can then share the clip with a specific viewing duration and optional password assigned to it.
Settings
In the settings menu you can view:
- Saved Video: Clips that you have saved and shared
- Faces: Sightings of recent faces as well as saved faces which can be edited to have correct name and label
- License Plates: Sightings of recent plates as well as saved plates which can be edited to have correct name and label
- Utilities: Can update Wifi credentials, unregister or apply firmware updates to sensors, get bluetooth diagnostics, as well as update static IP addresses
- Account: Can request support, logout, access FAQ, and send logs to support
Features
Clip Capture
The clip capture feature helps you easily save clips and share them. You can access it through tapping the hamburger button in the bottom middle of the feed screen. Once saved, you can navigate to the Saved Videos in the settings window to view and share it. Here is a demonstration of how to use this feature:
Zooming & Timeline
When trying to find the exact seek point of an event you can use the zooming feature on the timeline. To zoom in, simply tap or reverse pinch around the event location. Below is a gif demonstrating this feature.
Camera Settings & Details
To view the camera details, tap the hamburger button in the bottom middle of the feed screen and select "Settings & Details". In the settings side you can change camera settings, camera features, assigned policies, and other actions. On the details side you can view the cameras name, location, timezone, network interface, MAC address, IP address, storage capacity, and firmware version.
Region Search
This feature gives you the ability to pull up events over a search region. To access it, tap the hamburger button in the bottom middle of the feed screen and select "Region Search". Next enter the time duration you want to search over, and with one finger tap and drag over the feed to create a search area. The events within that search area will populate below the feed, and you can tap the clips to view the event, as well as save the clip.
Past Footage
The past footage feature lets you enter a specified date and time, and then takes you back to that moment of footage. To access it, tap the hamburger button in the bottom middle of the feed screen and select "Past Footage".
Color Search
With the color search feature, you have the ability to search footage over a given duration for a human and/or car of a specific color. You can see the clips that match youTo access it, tap the hamburger button in the bottom middle of the feed screen and select "Color Search". Color search is only under the Enterprise License. (console KBA)
