Event Search Overview
Event Search is a powerful feature that allows you to locate specific events in historical footage quickly. Event Search currently supports unique human movement events, vehicle movement events, color search, region search, and any movement event that can be captured and logged by a Rhombus device. Event Search can be accessed by clicking the icon that looks like a magnifying glass with a person inside it on the left-hand side above the video timeline.
People Search
People Search can look through the currently selected time window to locate human movement events, saved face events, and specific clothing colors.
1. To utilize the full functionality of People Search, specific AI detection events must be enabled on the device settings and on the video timeline.
2. Select a camera from the "Devices" page and click "Manage Event Types" on the left-hand side below the video timeline.
3. Ensure "Human Movement," "Saved Face," "Alerted Face," and "Color Search" are all enabled in the "Manage Event Types" menu and on the video timeline.
Note: The option to enable Color Search is located in the device's license/feature enablement menu. The license/feature enablement menu can be accessed by clicking the device name at the bottom of the "Manage Event Types" menu.
4. With the above event types enabled, People Search will, by default, pull up all human movement events in the selected time window. Clicking one of the thumbnails will display the footage associated with that human movement event on the main video feed.
5. The "Search saved faces" search bar allows you to enter the name of a saved face (previously captured by facial recognition) and identify if that person has passed by the camera's field of view within the selected time window.
6. Clicking the "Clothing color" drop-down menu allows you to select one or more clothing colors. Doing so will search through the selected time window for a human movement event with that clothing color present.
7. The "Add Region" button allows you to narrow the People Search function down to a specific region within the camera's field of view.
Vehicle Search
Vehicle Search can look through the selected time window to locate vehicle movement events, unique license plate events, and specific vehicle colors.
1. To utilize the full functionality of Vehicle Search, specific AI detection events must be enabled in the device settings and on the video timeline.
2. Select a camera from the "Devices" page and click "Manage Event Types" on the left-hand side below the video timeline.
3. Ensure "Vehicle Movement," "License Plate Recognition," and "Color Search" are all enabled in the "Manage Event Types" menu and on the video timeline.
Note: The options to enable Color Search and License Plate Recognition are located in the device's license/feature enablement menu. The license/feature enablement menu can be accessed by clicking the device name at the bottom of the "Manage Event Types" menu.
4. With the above event types enabled, Vehicle Search will, by default, pull up all vehicle movement events in the selected time window. Clicking one of the thumbnails will display the footage associated with that human movement event on the main video feed.
5. The "Search license plate" search bar allows you to enter a license plate (previously captured by license plate recognition) and identify if that vehicle has passed by the camera's field of view within the selected time window.
6. Clicking the "Vehicle color" drop-down menu allows you to select one or more vehicle colors. Doing so will search through the selected time window for a vehicle movement event with that color vehicle present.
7. The "Add Region" button allows you to narrow the Vehicle Search function down to a specific region within the camera's field of view.
All Events Search
All Events Search will look through the currently selected time window and compile a list of all the event types that were logged during that time period. Clicking on any of the events in the list will display the associated footage with that event on the main video feed.
When performing an All Events Search, the events that appear are those selected in the "Manage Event Types" menu and those selected below the video timeline.
Region Search
Region Search allows you to highlight a section of the camera's field of view and search for Any Movement events within that region. Once highlighted, Any Movement events will appear in list format on the left-hand side of your screen. Clicking one of these thumbnails will display the video footage associated with that event.
Note: The R360 camera only supports Region Search when using the Fisheye viewing mode.
