Prerequisites
Before you can register the R600, you will need the following:
- PoE++ injector or POE++ switch (This camera consumes 51 Watts of power and requires 802.3bt PoE ++)
- Rhombus Console Account
- Mobile phone with downloaded Rhombus App (Android or iOS)
- Camera connected to network and power (POE++)
- Silica packets for waterproofing are included in the dome, and additional packets are included as needed
Wiring the Camera
The camera needs power and a network connection to register using a PoE++ injector or POE++ switch.
Mounting Guide
For the R600, we offer two accessories: a cap and a PoE++ injector. A complete list of our accessories can be found here.
Removing the Dome
1. Remove the 8 outer screws that secure the dome in place using the provided T10 security torx allen wrench. |
2. Twist the dome counterclockwise, then pull it up to carefully remove it. |
3. Optional: Remove the safety wire connecting the upper housing to the base. |
Ethernet Cable Connection / Waterproofing
1. With the dome removed, unscrew the cable gland using a 26mm hex socket to remove it from the base. |
|
2. Remove the waterproof connector. Pull out the grey insert and discard the black plug. |
|
3. Place the ethernet cable into the grey insert. |
|
4. Reattach the waterproof connector's black outer cover. Ensure that the larger end is inserted into the stainless steel nut. |
.
|
5. Plug the ethernet cable into the RJ45 connector. Thread the other end of the cable through the location where the cable gland will be reattached. Carefully seat the cable gland back, and screw it in until it is flush to ensure proper waterproofing. Use a 26mm hex socket. |
Additional Waterproofing: If mounting with any cable exposed from above, use a drip loop. For more information on drip loops, please review the Preventing Water Damage article. |
Lens Adjustments
With the dome removed, each of the four lenses can be independently angled and rotated. |
More general information can be found in the Aiming a Rhombus Camera article. |
Re-securing the Dome
1. Re-attach the inner cable, ensuring the wire is secured down on the side close to the silica packet. |
|
2. Line the plus sign on the dome up with the plus side on the base. When it is seated level, turn the upper housing clockwise to snap it back into place. |
Mounting Plate
1. Route cable(s) through the hole. |
2. Connect the safety tether wire to the anchor on the mounting plate. |
|
3. Line up the triangles from the camera and the mounting plate and turn clockwise. It will snap into place. |
|
4. To remove the mounting plate, push the button, which is aligned with the Rhombus logo, and rotate counter-clockwise. |
Cap
1. Connect the safety wire to the safety wire clip used to connect the mounting plate to the camera. |
2. Thread the ethernet cable through the mounting plate and cap. |
|
3. Screw in the cap to the bottom of the mounting plate, aligning the screws. |
POE ++ Injector
The R600 Multisensor consumes a max power of 51 Watts and requires 802.3bt PoE ++ for operation.

Registration Methods
Once you have powered up your camera, registering a new camera is fast and simple. Ensure the camera has the correct LED status that indicates it's ready to be registered. A full explanation of all LED statuses can be found here.
The camera should be auto-registered once it's powered and connected to the network.
You can also try to manually register a camera either from the mobile app (download links below) or via the web if, for some reason, it's not pre-registered to your Rhombus Console.
Click here to jump to the appropriate section for registration: Mobile App or Web Console.
Mobile App
1. Log in to the app and click "Register Devices" from the home screen. This will launch the registration wizard, which will guide you through the registration process step by step.
2. Select "Any Camera" underneath the section titled "Register via QR Code."
3. Select the location where you'd like the camera to be registered. If you haven't created a location within your console yet, you can do so by clicking "Add New Location" at the bottom of this page.
Note: If you don't see the location you are looking for, filter the results by clicking the "filter" button in the top right. You can learn more about Managing Locations here.
4. Select Ethernet for the camera connection type.
5. The last screen will display a QR code. Once the camera has powered on, show the QR code to it (a few inches from the lens is good). You'll know the camera has accepted the QR code when you hear an audible click from the device and the IR LEDs flash.
Note: If you do not hear a click, try moving the phone toward and away from the camera, or try a different camera lens.
Web Console
1. To register a camera from the web console, go to the "Devices" tab and select "Register Cameras."
If this is the first camera you are registering, you'll need to add a location first, either during this wizard or by selecting the Locations tab and choosing "Add Location."
2. When the registration window pops up, the first prompt asks you to enter your mobile number to receive a link to download the mobile app. If you would prefer to register via the web console, you can ignore this first step and click "Next" at the bottom right.
3. Select the location where these cameras will be registered and click "Next."
4. Select Ethernet for the camera connection type.
5. Select which roles will have access to these devices. You can choose between no access, view-only access, or full management permissions.
6. Select a policy to assign to these cameras and click "Next." (If you would prefer to have different policies applied to multiple cameras, leave the policy selection blank.)
7. The final screen will display the QR Registration Code. Show this QR Code to any camera that is powered and connected to the internet, and it will register accordingly.
Note: If you do not hear a click, try moving the phone toward and away from the camera, or try a different camera lens.
