Omnilert Overview
Omnilert Gun Detect is an advanced system that employs AI-powered visual gun detection software combined with emergency notification capabilities. When integrated with Rhombus, it delivers a comprehensive approach that spans the entire spectrum of gun threat detection, alerting, and crisis control. Set Up
To set up the integration, you will need:
- Rhombus Webhook Token (for Notifications & Alerts)
- Rhombus API Key (for Camera Import)
- Omnilert Configuration
Rhombus Console
1. Navigate to “Settings,” then select “Third Party Integrations.”
2. Click the "IoT Integrations" dropdown and select "Omnilert."
3. Enable the integration and configure. Click "Save" in the right corner.
Rhombus Webhook Token
1. After saving the Rhombus Console configuration, copy the Webhook token.
2. The token will be used in the Omnilert platform.
Rhombus Notifications
1. Navigate to "Settings," and click "Manage" below "Alert Notifications."
2. For each user that requires this notification, under the "Cameras" dropdown, check "Gun Detected" and save changes.
Rhombus API Key
The next part of the setup will involve creating a Rhombus API token for Omnilert.
1. Log in to the Rhombus Console, navigate to "Settings," and click "API Management."
2. Click "Add API Key" in the upper right corner.
3. Enter a name for the API Key, select "API Key" from the dropdown menu, and set the role to "Super Admin Group." Click "Submit."
4. A pop-up will appear with your API key and a one-time download option. Click the "copy" icon to copy the API key and save it in a separate location for later use. Then click the "download" icon to download the signed certificate.
Note: The information in this window will only be displayed once and must be saved prior to closing the window.
Omnilert Configuration
The information and steps for setting up the Rhombus integration within Omnilert can be found below. The Omnilert support document for this information is also available here. The Rhombus Systems integration uses the Plugin Manager on your Omnilert Gun Detect server.
1. Open a terminal window on your Gun Detect server.
2. Enter gd-pluginmgr to launch the Plugin Manager.
3. Select the Rhombus plugin.
4. Follow the prompts until the plugin is fully configured.
5. Enter the Webhook Token and click "OK."
6. Enter the API Key and click "OK."
7. Upon detection, alarms can be created before and after threat verification. Select which alarms should be initiated and whether to run validation on a positive or negative result.
8. Click "OK" to save your settings.
9. Click "OK" to continue.
10. Click "OK" to complete the setup.
11. When complete, the cameras can be imported into Gun Detect using the “Find Cameras” button in the Gun Detect UI.
Note: If you unplug cameras, they may be assigned new IP addresses when you reconnect them. When this occurs, cameras need to be re-imported by re-running the setup program.
