Overview
The Rhombus TV app for Apple TV allows you to monitor live video walls from the comfort of a large-screen display, making it ideal for security operations centers, reception areas, and other continuous monitoring environments. After activating the app through the Rhombus Console, users can securely access video walls based on their assigned permissions and view live camera feeds directly from Apple TV. This article outlines the recommended hardware, activation process, video wall requirements, and available features of the Rhombus TV app.
Prerequisites
Recommended Apple TV Specifications
We recommend using the Apple TV 4K (3rd Generation) with an Ethernet port for a LAN connection.
Older Apple TV models can be used, but they are limited to displaying a maximum of 20 cameras simultaneously.
The Apple TV 4K (2nd Generation) can display up to 30 cameras simultaneously at a resolution of 640 × 480.
Note: If your Apple TV is connected to the HDMI ARC port on your TV or monitor, it will shut down when the TV or monitor is powered off. To ensure your Apple TV remains powered on when the TV or monitor is turned off, connect it to a different HDMI port or disable the HDMI-CEC setting on your TV or monitor.
Video Wall Setup
When creating a video wall, the "Visible to Others" toggle must be enabled. If this setting is not enabled, the video wall will not be visible on the Apple TV.
