Installation & Registration

Mounting

The first step in setting up the alarm pad is mounting it in your facility. At Rhombus, we use the Vidabox VESA Wall Mount.

Note: If you purchased the TS10, reference the TS10 Setup article for installation instructions. 

The mounting instructions are as follows:

• Drill the mounting plate into the wall
• Place iPad into mounting casing
• Attach case to mounting plate

Registering

1. Search "Alarm Pad" in the App Store, then tap "Get."

Note: Do not download the "Rhombus Alarm Pad" app, as it has been deprecated. Instead, download the "Alarm Pad" app, which features the Rhombus logo in the bottom-right corner of its icon.

2. Log in to the Rhombus Console, navigate to the "Devices" tab, and click "Alarm Pads" in the upper-right corner of the screen.

3. Click "Register Alarm Pad" in the upper-left corner.

4. Enter a name for the alarm pad, enter the unique token generated by the previously downloaded "Alarm Pad" app, assign the alarm pad to a location, and then click "Submit" in the bottom-right corner.

Create Alarm Pad PINs

Alarm Pad PINs are required to perform several actions in the Alarm Pad app. 

1. Log in to the Rhombus Console, navigate to the "Locations" page, then select a location with an active alarm monitoring license.

2. Hover over the hamburger button in the upper-right corner of the page, then click "Alarm Pad PINs."

3. Click "Create New PIN" in the upper-left corner.

4. Select the user to associate with this PIN, enter a custom PIN or generate one automatically, and optionally set credential start and end dates or deliver the PIN to the user's email. Click "Save" when finished.

Alarm Pad Modes

Once the Alarm Pad is registered, several modes are available depending on the state of your alarm monitoring.

Disarmed

With Alarm Monitoring disarmed, enter a valid Alarm Pad PIN to arm.

Note: An arming countdown can be set for alarm pads in the Rhombus Console by navigating to the "Devices" tab, clicking "Alarm Pads" along the top toolbar, selecting an alarm pad, and setting the countdown duration.

Armed

To disable alarm monitoring until the next scheduled start time, enter a valid Alarm Pad PIN when the system is armed.

Possible Threat Detected

When a possible threat is detected, the alert will automatically be sent to an Alarm Monitoring agent once the countdown completes. Tap "Escalate Now" to have authorities notified immediately, or tap "Dismiss" to confirm this event as a non-threat.

Active Threat in Progress

During an active threat, a valid Alarm Pad PIN can be entered to confirm the event as a non-threat.
