In this article, we will be going over the investigation tab:
Device Map
Suppose you'd like a visual representation of your devices based on your floorplan & device placement across various locations; you'd need to go to the investigation tab and then device map. Once you click on the location, you will see a display of Rhombus devices associated with the location and their device placement. See the image below for example:
You should be able to click into an individual camera or device by selecting from the menu on your left-hand side. You can also use the timeline to jump to a specific date & time. Additionally, if you hover over the device on the floorplan, you will see a thumbnail of that camera's Field of View.
Footage
Search for footage across multiple cameras
If you'd like to search through footage across multiple cameras at once, you'd need to go to the investigation tab.
Once in the investigation tab, go ahead and select "footage" on the top left side of the screen. From there, a drop-down menu stating "Select Cameras" will appear. Now choose the cameras you'd like to search for footage one. You can create & save a clip across all cameras at once.
Faces
Once facial recognition is enabled, you'll notice a few things. First, you'll see a "Recent Faces" section on the dashboard that will show you recent faces that any camera with facial recognition enabled has seen. If faces are not showing up, ensure the camera positioning is good and that an enterprise license is applied.
Now, if you go into Investigations -> Faces, you'll be able to manage the Face Profiles that are saved for your organization. Here you can perform various actions, such as naming thumbnails to be saved to your organization and adding a label(s) to them. Adding a label is crucial to setting up an alert for specific face alerts. You can add multiple labels by clicking on the Add label button and entering a label name of your choosing.
Saved Faces
Saving a face means you are building a face profile for that person. To save a face, you have to name it.
Find the person you want to name, click on the "Unnamed" link below the face, and entering a name. Once named, the face will appear in the 'Saved Faces' area within the investigations tab. If you want to un-save a face, erase the name and leave it blank.
Face Details
By hovering over a face thumbnail, you can view details of the captured face: When selected, a popup will appear where you can view where the event took place, at what time, and what camera tagged the event. Additionally, you can quickly view the footage by clicking the "View Footage" button:
Fixing an Incorrect Match
If a face is auto-tagged as the wrong person, hover over the thumbnail and click the "Not a match" button:
Not a Face Feedback
Fortunately or unfortunately, AI is not perfect. We have exposed a way for you to let us know that the captured face is not a face for events such as these. Doing this improves our AI algorithm and thus offers better performance for you. To do this, hover over a face that is not a face and select the "Not a face" button:
Downloading Face Events
You will find a download button in the top right of the faces tab. With this button, you can download face events to a CSV to play around with the data at your leisure.
Upload Faces
On the Faces tab of the Investigations page, you will see the "Upload Faces" button on the top right of the screen.
Please upload 3-10 photos of each person: driver's license, agency photo, etc. Ensure that images are sufficiently large in terms of resolution. Faces will be recognized as small as 50 x 50 pixels in image resolutions up to 1920 x 1080. Higher-resolution images require a larger minimum face size. Faces larger than the minimum size provide more accurate facial comparison results.
License Plates
The license plate tab will show you thumbnails of license plates that were recently captured. Here you can perform various actions, such as naming thumbnails to be saved to your organization and adding a label(s) to them. Adding a label is crucial to setting up an alert for specific plates. You can add multiple labels by clicking on the Add label button and entering a label name of your choosing.
When you click on the thumbnail of a particular plate, more information about the sighting appears. You can go directly to the footage and view the clip, view more details about the plate, set up alerts, and mark it as trusted.
Saved License Plates
Saving a license plate means you are building a license plate profile. To keep a license plate, you have to name it. Find the license plate you want to name, click on the pencil icon and enter the license plate name.
Searching
To search for a license plate number, use the search bar located in the top-left area of the page. You can also type in a partial license plate, and all relevant license plates will show up in the results area.
For searching and matching license plates to saved vehicles for alerting, the software uses fuzzy searching, which allows up to 3 characters to mismatch depending on the length of the read plate. So even if the software can't identify all the characters on the plate, it will still show an alert on the correct plates. Other search filters are also available to narrow down or expand the time frame you want your results to be.
License Plate Details
License plate details are located in the popup after you click on the thumbnail in the results area, or if the plate is already saved, you can search for it in the 'Saved License Plates' tab and click on the thumbnail. You will see some information such as the date and time, the names of the cameras that picked up the license plate, and the location. You will also have an option to go to the footage, which will take you directly to a 30secs clip of the event.
Add License Plates
On the License Plates tab of the Investigations page, you will see the "Add License Plates" button on the top right of the screen. You'll see a modal pop up to enter the name of the license plate you want to save and the license plate alphanumeric digits. Once you are done, click Submit, and you should see it listed in the 'Saved License Plates' tab.
