The quickest way to mount E1 or D1 sensors is with the included adhesive, which will attach firmly to most smooth surfaces. This can also be used for outdoor installations where the sensors are covered from rain. However, in outdoor installations where the sensors may get wet, or for installations requiring screw attachment, please use the weather shield and bracket accessories as shown below.
1. Place the sensor bracket oriented the same as the sensor, with side notches pointing the same direction, and the Rhombus logo oriented the same way. In some installations (D1 on the left and magnet on the right), the Rhombus logo will be upside down.
2. Attach the sensor bracket to the surface with included adhesive or included screws, using included anchors if necessary in the material (such as drywall).
3. Slide the weather shield over the top of the sensor. Even if the Rhombus logo on the sensor is upside down, the weather shield will slide downward from the top so that its logo is right-side up.
4. The weather shield MUST be used if the bracket is used. The sensor will not be fully held on the bracket without the weather shield in place.
1. To mount the magnet using screws, first open the magnet housing by twisting a flat-head screwdriver in the end notch.
2. Attach the rear magnet housing to the surface using included screws, using included anchors if necessary in the material (such as drywall).
3. Replace the magnet inside the housing, and snap the front housing onto the rear housing.
Mounting M1 Sensors
The M1 sensor is battery powered. It communicates via Bluetooth just like the other sensors do. It can be wall-mounted with the included adhesive or screws, and use the anchors is using the screws in softer wall materials.
It should be mounted so that people move across its 90-degree horizontal field of view.
